De Anza at the 2023 North America Championship of the ICPCCongratulations to Sunho Kim, Ralph Cao and Ji-yoo Dojun for their motivation, dedication and excellence in preparing for and participating in this grueling event spread. Thank you to their advisor's energy in supporting the students' efforts. Of the 51 colleges qualifying for this event, De Anza was the only community college competing against the likes of MIT, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Northwestern, Caltech, CMU and 5 UCs among others. They finished in the middle of the pack and got an honorable mention at the awards ceremony for soundly trouncing one-third of the schools that participated and only two questions shy of being able to advance to the World Finals. |

DA Hack 2021 HacathonWomen in Computer Science Club (WiCS) and Developers Guild held their second-annual DA Hack 2021 hackathon, which we are calling Hacktoberfest. This 2-day event took place on Zoom over the weekend of the 23rd-24th of October, with optional events throughout the week leading up to the hackathon. Attendees had the opportunity to contribute to the opensource community, connect with industry experts, and gain insights from various workshops! Therewas a Code Race hosted by the Competitive Coding Club. |
De Anza Women in Computer Science Date: Friday, January 29th, 2021 Time: 9:00am to 10:00am Description: Katya Echazarreta graduated from UCLA in 2019 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. During her time there she was a part-time intern at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
