Student participation in College Decision-Making
De Anza students have several opportunities to participate in student government and the college's shared governance process.
These opportunities allow students to contribute to campus projects, advocate for student needs, and participate in discussions about college policies and priorities.

DASG Committees
DASG committees are groups that focus on specific areas of student government. They carry out the functions of the Senate by working internally to research and plan these tasks. Depending on the committee, students may help develop projects, review funding requests, plan events, discuss student concerns, or work on campus initiatives.

- All DASG Committee meetings are located in the Student Council Chambers and hyflex via zoom. For all meeting links, please view the agenda of the respective committee.
- The DASG Senate and DASG Committees generally meet the second week of each quarter through the tenth week of each quarter Fall - Spring. They do not normally meet the first week of the quarter, the week before finals, finals week, holidays, breaks, or during the summer.
- Senate meetings may extend past 5pm depending on the agenda. Please check the Senate Agenda for the precise end time.
Shared Governance Groups
Shared governance is a process through which different members of the college community participate in institutional decision-making.
This can include:
- Students
- Faculty
- Classified professionals and staff
- Administrators
Representatives from these groups participate in committees and other governance bodies to discuss issues, provide input, develop recommendations, and help shape college priorities.

College Governance vs. District Governance
College governance committees focus on matters specific to De Anza College, such as campus programs, services, facilities, and college-level planning. These committees bring together students, faculty, staff, and administrators to discuss and provide input on issues affecting the De Anza campus.
District governance committees address matters that affect the Foothill–De Anza Community College District as a whole, which includes both De Anza College and Foothill College. These committees may focus on district-wide policies, resources, planning, and other decisions that impact both colleges.
