What We Do

Judicial Affairs is committed to upholding our standards of academic integrity and responsible conduct with the need to protect the welfare and reputation of De Anza College.

Judicial Affairs will:

  • Educate the community — publish, distribute, and explain the Student Code of Conduct, and present information about the Judicial Affairs system to students, faculty, and staff
  • Hold students accountable — when students or student groups behave inappropriately, Judicial Affairs guides them through a conduct review process designed to encourage them to take responsibility
  • Develop student leadership — they structure the conduct process as a learning opportunity, giving students a chance to build critical thinking skills through peer review
  • Protect student rights — they ensure all disciplinary proceedings follow state and federal law and due process protections, so students are treated fairly

Judicial Affairs Hearing Boards

  

Student Judicial Affairs Hearing Boards are responsible for reviewing potential violations of the Student Code of Conduct adopted by the Foothill-De Anza Community College District (Administrative Procedure 5500)  and other rules, policies and regulations including Title IX cases.
